Divine Essentials Virtual Tutoring Service 

 Hello!  My name is Ms. Ivy Patterson.  I am ecstatic to be taking the opportunity to help students in need.  We founded Divine Essentials with a mission to help students and parents.  I will focus on tutoring in the areas of Reading and English Language Arts for grades pre-k-12, some college, and some graduate level courses, phonics, and ACT Prep.   

    I have over 8 years of teaching experience and I am a highly qualified/ certified English teacher.  I have a Bachelor's Degree from Alabama A&M University, as well as, certification to teach English.  While at Alabama A&M University, I served as a cheerleader and an ambassador for the English Language Arts Department of the school.  I received my M.S. degree from Jacksonville State University.  This degree is also majoring in Secondary Education with a concentration in English Language Arts.  I have also received my Educational Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership. Currently, I am pursuing my Doctorate of Education in Educational and Organizational Leadership. I have a love for learning and it is my mission to help uncover this passion in all my students. In my free time, I enjoy reading, crafting, shopping, and spending time with my loving family. 

     As an ELA teacher, I strongly believe that literacy is the foundation of all learning.  When students are better readers and writers, their performance in all subjects increases, and they are better able to think and communicate their thoughts.  Literacy is the most significant skill needed to function effectively in school, in the workplace, and in society.  It is vital to a successful education, career, and quality of life!  Literacy is empowering!
